Curve Media Limited of 19-21 Nile Street, London, United Kingdom, N1 7LL (“we”/“us”/“our”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This privacy notice (“Notice”) sets out the basis on which any personal data we receive from you, or that we gather in any other way, will be processed by us. This notice applies to the casting process for Salvage Hunters - The Restorers via (the “Website”), and does not cover any other part of our business. It will not apply to any subsequent phases of production of the programme that follow the submission of any new or replacement notice, for example, if you are selected to feature in the programme.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) we shall be the “controller”.

We may collect and process data about you in the manner set out below.

You may give us information about you by making an application by filling in the submission form on the Website or by sharing a video, and providing a link to social media pages, and subsequently by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. The information you give us may include without limitation your name, age, address, e-mail address, phone number, occupation and details of previous television appearances.

We will use the information that we receive from you to assess whether to film you and/or your item for use in television programmes that we produce. Your submission of this information does not constitute consent to the use of your data in the television programmes, and nor does any communication from us indicate that we will film you and/or your item in television programmes, unless expressly indicated in writing.

We will store the information you provide on our own computer equipment for a period of up to one year. Access will be limited to those with responsibility for the making of programmes in which you or your item may be featured, which may include third party consultants or contractors. We do not share the information with any other person, or use it for any other purpose (such as sending marketing communications), except as set out in this notice. We do not transfer the information outside of the European Union.

The processing of data described above is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests in assessing persons, items and stories for inclusion within the television programmes that we create.

We may disclose your personal information if we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about potential contributors to programmes will be one of the transferred assets. This privacy notice shall apply to the use of the information by said third party purchaser.

We may disclose your information if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation; or to protect our rights, property, or safety, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

The GDPR provides you with rights to:

We will comply with any valid request for information under the rights explained above within one month, though we may tell you that this period is to be extended by a further two months where necessary, taking into account the complexity and number of the requests. This will normally be provided free of charge. If the request is manifestly unfounded, excessive or repetitive we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to action the request.

The provision of personal data to us is not a statutory requirement. Nor is it a contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract. You are not obliged to provide the data, but if you do not do so, we will not be able to assess you or your item to feature in any programme.
